Roles and Responsibilities

Assistance may be given to diagnose complex problems; however, the incumbent will diagnose the normal range of problems using troubleshooting techniques

Perform or assist in assembly and installation of new or used complex production or plant equipment and systems.

Repair, install, and relocate or modify electrical and electronic controls, air logic circuits, mechanical systems that may be included in plant or equipment, such as, heating units, air conditioners, air compressors, pumps, fans, ductwork, printed circuit boards, programmable controls, computerized control systems, motors, power tools, meters, fire protection equipment and lift trucks.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, test and measuring devices, for example, precision multi-meter, micrometers, chart recorders, oscilloscopes, and electrical, mechanical, and electronic analysis and diagnostic equipment work.

Attend service schools, seminars and other training sessions considered by management to be necessary for adequate machine and equipment repair coverage.

This position requires the ability, knowledge, and desire to instruct other less experienced mechanics; must be capable of proceeding alone with planning, layout and completion of an assignment using and interpreting prints, instructions, sketches, schematic diagrams, specifications, and equipment or service manuals. Responsible for teamwork, accuracy, total quality, employee involvement and cost reductions.

Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.

Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.

Required Qualifications

Five years facility maintenance experience

Welding, design, and fabricating experience or training required.

Ability to operate basic hand and power tools.

Basic math skills and ability to read and understand equipment or system operations manuals and blueprints

Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, general industrial equipment mechanics, electrical and plumbing systems.

Certified forklift operator or ability to obtain certifications

Ability to lift or carry objects or materials up to 60 lbs.

Ability to make quick or repeated movement (holding, reaching, twisting, bending) with hands, arms, legs, or body

Ability to walk distances, climb and remain standing for extended periods (1012-hour shift) on concrete floors

Ability to inspect machinery, equipment or systems and determine if it matches a standard specification visually and audibly

Desired Characteristics

High School diploma with vocational education experience.

Shift: Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm
