Description: This position is responsible for the care and maintenance of city trees.

Examples of Duties

Operates a bucket truck and other specialized equipment to prune and remove trees; operates a log loader, front end loader, chipper and dump truck.

Removes dead, dying or hazardous trees.

Cleans up storm-related damage.

Removes stumps.

Plants trees.

Repairs irrigation lines.

Assists with snow removal operations.

Conducts daily vehicle and equipment inspections.

Inspects firewood piles.

Diagnoses and treats trees for pests.

Performs related duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized

training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school

education.

Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the

position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having

had a similar position for one to two years.

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of North

Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
