NOVA Fire Protection, Inc. is a fire sprinkler contractor serving North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. Founded in 1985, NOVA has designed and installed thousands of fire sprinkler systems throughout the region and across all industries and occupancies. Currently, we are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Fire Sprinkler Fitters.
Sprinkler Fitters are a well-trained, dedicated, and knowledgeable group of men and women committed to protecting life and property from the catastrophic consequences of a fire.
The principal function of a Sprinkler Fitter is the installation, repair, and maintenance of automatic fire sprinkler systems. This includes installing piping systems at the ceiling level of new and existing buildings using tools, lifts, and ladders. With safety being our top priority, you will be trained in the proper use and care of tools and equipment associated with the work.
THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The apprenticeship program is on-the-job training in addition to a multiple course education curriculum completed online. Apprentices work with a foreman who will teach, supervise, and direct the work.
JOB DUTIES
Read and understand system design plans and install the systems accordingly
Pick, sort, and organizing material/pipe/fittings at the job site
Utilize various tools and equipment to safely and efficiently assemble system piping at job sites
Ability to lift objects that weigh in excess of 50 pounds, climb ladders, use aerial lifts, and work at various heights
Ability to travel with some overnight stays
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
At least 18 years old High school diploma or GED
Possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Willing to lift up to at least 50 pounds
Willing to climb ladders/use lifts
Mechanical background is preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
Willing to pass a post offer drug test and background check
